Last Friday, just in time for the release of the new iPad 2 and South by Southwest Interactive, a temporary Apple store was opened in downtown Austin. Apple decided to move some of their new inventory to the temporary store to attract business from the thousands of tech-loving conference attendees.
The temporary store occupies a 5,000-foot space in the Scarborough Building on Congress Avenue and West Sixth Street. It will be open for two weeks. Apple has two permanent stores in Austin located at the Domain and Barton Creek Square mall, but the company wanted to make their new technology more easily accessible to people attending events at SXSW.
