Emerson Process Management, a high-tech automated production management company in North Austin, has announced that they will be moving their headquarters to Round Rock. The decision was made as a part of an incentive package from the city, county and Chamber of Commerce. Officials said that they take a business’s payroll, number of employees, capital investments, and more into consideration when deciding on an incentive package’s provisions.
Emerson will move their headquarters, along with 750 employees, into the Frontera Vista complex. Furthermore, the company hopes to add 125 jobs at the new site over the next 3 years. The move will take place in the beginning of 2012.
As a part of the incentive deal, Emerson agreed to spend $25 million on renovations to the new offices. In addition, the company is required to attract at least 10,000 hotel room-nights a year for the city by bringing in customers and employees from out of town. If they meet the requirements of the package, Emerson could receive up to $1.75 million for the move.
