A Houston apartment developer has agreed to pay tenants for moving them out of the Shoreline and Brookhollow apartment complexes off East Riverside Drive. Grayco Partners will be providing a total of $90,000 to tenants as they plan to demolish the complexes and develop a $200 million high-rise apartment and retail project.
The developer also recently agreed to pay $20,000 for a realtor to help the displaced low-income tenants find new housing. The realtor specializes in helping individuals and families with financial restrictions find homes and apartments.
The tenants were informed by the developer that they must be out of the complex by late August. As of last week, about 184 apartments at the complexes were still occupied.
